The Haute Meuse? Probably the most beautiful region of Belgium! Its slogan “Valleys of fortresses and castles” is no accident. The Château de Vêves, and the ruins of Montaigle, Crèvecoeur and Poilvache are perched on limestone peaks while the medieval keep of Crupet, the Castle of Freyr or the Annevoie gardens occupy the valleys. Dinant is nestled at the foot of its Citadel.
One fourth of the most beautiful villages of Wallonia (Celles, Mozet, Crupet, Soulme, Sosoye, Falaën...) are within a radius of twenty kilometers of Yvoir, without mentioning others which are just as beautiful (Drehance, Furfooz, Falmagne, Evrehailles). Abbeys? Visit Brogne, Leffe or Maredsous.
The owner, a naturalist who is passionate about the environment, can guide your group through areas inhabited by black woodpeckers, show you badger burrows, and guide you along rivers with salamanders.
Forest walks can begin at the Ferme de l’Airbois. The chemin de Saint-Jacques passes at the foot of the property.
At the Ferme de l’Airbois there are board games, petanque, ping-pong, badminton, a sand box, swing sets and a swimming pool (special hours reserved for guests).
